Check Crawford County 24-Hour Releases

A Crawford County 24 hour release list would show who left the county jail during the most recent day. Crawford County does not publish that kind of official web feed. To check who was released in the last 24 hours, use a time-bounded jail record request, the Sheriff App as a current-custody clue, and the correct court docket for the legal event. Each source answers a different question. A name missing from a roster may reflect release, transfer, delay, or a different booking. Same-day confirmation requires both the Crawford County jail movement record and the court action behind it.

Crawford County Same-Day Releases

The Crawford County Sheriff website for Sheriff Scott M. Kent does not publish a roster, a recent-release page, or a distinct 24-hour release feed. There is no official web address to filter by release time. The county also publishes no web-feed cadence, retention period, field list, or photo policy. A list from another Crawford County cannot fill that gap. Likewise, the current-custody roster in a mobile app cannot be relabeled as a list of people who left custody today.

A useful same-day result must come from the agency record for the requested interval. The Crawford County Jail / Justice Center movement record can show when a booking ended and the coded reason. The court docket can show the order that authorized bond, dismissal, time served, a sentence, or transfer. These facts are related but not identical. Processing, another hold, or transport may separate the time of the order from the time the person left the building. The Crawford County released inmate search provides the fuller named-person route when the release day is not known.

Verify the event: A missing roster name does not prove community release. It can also mean transfer, delay, a spelling difference, or a move to another custodian.

Crawford County Same-Day Release Check

Define the window first. Write down an exact start and end time rather than asking who was released “today.” That keeps a midnight crossing from dropping a record and lets the Sheriff identify existing movement entries instead of creating a new analysis. For one named person, also note the displayed name, approximate booking date, court, and case or booking number when known. A date of birth can help agency staff distinguish a match, but private identifying data should not be published.

  1. Check the officially documented Sheriff App roster and record the observation time. Presence supports current display in jail data; absence proves nothing by itself.
  2. Call the Crawford County Sheriff at 419-562-7906. Ask whether the specified booking ended, when it ended, what movement code applies, and whether another agency received the person.
  3. Request existing release or movement records from the precise 24-hour interval. Include the booking number or date range and ask for nonexempt portions.
  4. Use Municipal Court for misdemeanor, traffic, bond, and preliminary matters. Use Common Pleas for a felony disposition, sentence, or judicial-release order.
  5. If the record shows a transfer, follow the receiving system. ODRC, BOP, USMS, and ICE each require a different custody check.

The broader Crawford County 72-hour release list process is useful when the event may have crossed a weekend or when the first day of court entries is incomplete. Keep each observation time. That makes later changes understandable instead of treating an old screen as permanent proof.

Note: Ohio requires records within a reasonable period, but no universal number of response days applies to a Crawford County release request.

Crawford County Release Record Fields

Because no official 24-hour feed exists, these are the fields to request from an existing Crawford County booking and release record. They are not a claim that each field appears in one public screen. Ask for the booking episode tied to the exact person and interval. If a field is withheld or redacted, request the legal basis and the segregable, nonexempt parts that can still be released.

Requested fieldWhat it helps confirm
Legal name and booking numberLinks the result to one custody episode and reduces same-name errors.
Admission date and timeSeparates a recent booking from an older Crawford County case.
Release date and timePlaces the physical movement inside or outside the requested 24-hour span.
Release authority or codeIdentifies bond, court order, time served, transfer, or another recorded basis.
Destination or receiving agencyDistinguishes community release from continued custody elsewhere.
Charges, court, and case numberPoints to the docket that should contain the legal event.

A coded reason should be preserved as written. If the meaning is unclear, ask the custodian for an existing code key or definition. Do not translate “court ordered” into freedom without finding the order. “ODRC” means state imprisonment continues. A hold or transport entry means the person may have left Crawford County Jail while remaining in legal custody.

Crawford County Bond Release Timing

The Crawford County Municipal Court bond page explains a key same-day path. A bond may be preset by warrant, set from a bond schedule, or left for arraignment. When court is closed, an eligible preset bond may be posted at the Bucyrus, Galion, or Crestline police departments. The page describes surety or corporate bonds, full cash bonds, 10-percent secured appearance bonds, and own-recognizance or personal-recognizance release. A nonrefundable $25 surcharge applies.

The official bond page is shown below because it documents the local types and after-hours locations that can start release processing.

The court authorization does not establish the jail exit time. Payment may need to post, staff must process the order, and another case, warrant, or hold may still control custody. A person who bonds out also has an active pretrial case. Bond is not acquittal, dismissal, or completion of the case.

Note: Failure to appear can lead to a later bench warrant, so an older bond release does not establish a person's current custody status.

Crawford County Roster Verification

Crawford County has a notable channel split. The public sheriff website has no roster link, while the Sheriff's 2025 Annual Report says the free app includes “Jail roster and inmate service.” The report calls the roster the app's most popular item. It does not say the app stores former detainees, offers a recent-release filter, refreshes on a set schedule, or shows release reasons. A roster observation is therefore a current access clue with an unknown cadence, not the county's 24-hour release list.

Online court data can lag too. The Municipal Court record search warns that its information may trail filings by at least 24 hours or longer. The Common Pleas Clerk separately warns that its public search has not updated since “July 31st” during software work, without giving a year in that notice. A responsive screen may still be stale. Call the appropriate clerk when the timing matters.

Roster presence
The app currently displays the person in its jail data. It is not a final legal status.
Roster absence
The name is not displayed at that moment. Release, transfer, lag, or search mismatch remain possible.
Court entry
A legal event such as bond, dismissal, sentence, or transport. It may not give the door-exit time.
Movement record
The holding agency's record of departure, reason code, time, and possible destination.

Crawford County Sheriff App Limits

The app deserves its own check because it is the only official Crawford County channel documented as carrying a jail roster. Search the exact name and note the time of the search. Do not assume that a missing name was removed at the moment of release. The research does not establish the developer identity, store links, app update date, search fields, accessibility, archive behavior, or whether photographs appear. It also does not confirm a 24-hour or 72-hour release choice.

If an app result and an agency record differ, preserve both dates and use the agency record for the custody action. A saved app result shows what that access layer displayed. It does not outrank a certified court order or the jail's own movement log. Likewise, an app photo, if one appears, would identify a booking image rather than prove that release took place.

Note: The 2025 Annual Report supports the roster feature for that reporting period, but it does not promise the app's present design or release fields.

Crawford County Release Destinations

A Crawford County jail departure can lead to several places. Community release may follow bond, recognizance, dismissal, time served, sentence expiration, probation placement, or another court order. Transfer to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction means incarceration continues in the state system. A USMS move continues federal authority. An ICE transfer continues immigration custody, and another county's warrant may send the person to that jail.

Ohio VINELink can provide a general release, transfer, escape, or death alert for a participating county-jail record if registration occurred while the record was active. It is a notification channel, not a certified history. For an ODRC record, the Released and APA Supervision filters and detail dates are more useful. None of those state tools should be used for someone whose only custody was a Crawford County misdemeanor booking.
